Lauren Ashburn is a 35-year veteran of television, print and digital media. She created Ashburn Media Company and the Foundation for Media Innovation in 2009.

She and her team have trained dozens of clients to speak to the media, created public relations strategies, podcasts, social media campaigns, and have written speeches. She has hosted dozens of events including speaking engagements.

Ashburn has hosted and executive produced network and cable television news programs. She has interviewed US Presidents, members of Congress, covered political conventions, and high-profile celebrities. She reported on the Iraq War from the front lines, anchored from the US/Mexico border, interviewed top leaders at the Vatican. She covered 9/11 from the Pentagon and flew in the belly of a C-130 to deliver aid to victims of a national flooding disaster in Central America.

She has served as a contributor to Fox News, the Daily Beast and PBS NewsHour. She has written for The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, Huffington Post and others and produced a 13-part series for CBS News.

She was the Managing Editor and Anchor for EWTN News Nightly with Lauren Ashburn where she interviewed guests from around the world and hosted a daily news show dedicated to covering Washington. Previously, she managed communications for Pope Francis’ visit to Washington, DC.

Ashburn was the Managing Editor of Gannett Broadcasting and USA TODAY LIVE, where she controlled financial operations for the unit, managed staff, and served on the Executive Committee of the newspaper where she leveraged broadcast, cable, and digital content to transition USA TODAY from a print-based organization to a digital media company fully utilizing the power of audio and video.

Ashburn served as USA TODAY anchor and correspondent, a reporter/anchor at WJLA-TV, the ABC affiliate in Washington, DC, and at WHP-TV, the CBS affiliate in Harrisburg, PA. She has won several awards for her reporting and producing.

Ashburn received her master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University and her bachelor’s degree from Albright College in Reading, PA. She was awarded Albright’s Young Alumna Achievement Award for career performance and served on its Board. She lives in Chevy Chase, MD with her family.
